Chair of the Source Protection Committee
Nels Conroy is an aquatic specialist with more than 40 years experience. He was Vice President Operations in Northern Ontario for the Ontario Clean Water Agency; and was President of the Water Environment Association of Ontario. He held positions with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, including Assistant Director, Utility Operations Manager and Regional Biologist. He has been involved in aspects of fresh water throughout his career from the role of aquatic biology in benchmarking water quality to directing the operations of more than 100 water and wastewater treatment plants.

Greater Sudbury Municipal Representative
Stephen Monet has 20 years experience in various aspects of environmental planning and management. He has worked on a number of environmental impact studies for private and public clients, has conducted numerous floral and faunal inventories throughout Ontario, and developed rehabilitation site plans for several aggregate extraction sites. Currently, he is Manager of Environmental Planning Initiatives with the City of Greater Sudbury, overseeing environmental planning matters at the City.

Greater Sudbury Municipal Representative
Paul Baskcomb is the Manager of Community and Strategic Planning with the Growth and Development Department at the City of Greater Sudbury. Paul has worked for 24 years as a Professional Planner with experience in the municipal, provincial and private sectors. He holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Studies from York University and is a member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Nick Benkovich is the Director of Water & Wastewater Services for the City of Greater Sudbury. Nick holds an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies Degree from the University of Waterloo as well as a Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from Laurentian University. He has 26 years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and management of water and wastewater facilities.

Greg Haddad is the President of Uptown Cleaners and a resident of Sudbury. He is currently the Chair of the Ontario Drycleaners Association and Past President of Sudbury Rotary Club and current member of the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce.

Mining Representative
Wendy Wisniewski is an Environmental Biology Technologist and is recognized as an Applied Science Technologist with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists. Currently employed at Vale Inco, Mrs Wisniewski is a specialist in industrial water permits and regulatory requirements applicable at the municipal potable water systems owned and operated by Vale Inco. As a life long resident of Sudbury, she is committed to the protection of the municipal drinking water supply for our community today and for future generations.

Luc Bock is a developer in Sudbury and owns L.S. Bock Development. He is also the current president of the Sudbury & District Home Builders Association and is a current member of the Development Liaison Advisory Committee for the City of Greater Sudbury.

Public Member at Large Representative
Tim Worton is a public member of the Source Protection Committee. He recently retired from the Sudbury & District Health Unit after 30 years in public health as a Public Health Inspector, Environmental Health Officer (Health and Welfare, Medical Services (Health Canada), Environmental Support Officer and Manager. One of his principle duties during that time was to protect the public by ensuring the safety of private and/or municipal drinking water supplies. He is currently a member of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors and still maintains a strong vested interest in the protection of drinking water, particularly where it all begins, at the source.

Environmental Non-Governmental Representative
Lilly Noble is a member of the Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury, which is a network of citizen groups and individuals who share a vision of Sudbury as a green, healthy and vibrant community. She represents environmental interests on the Source Protection Committee. She has a background in Biology at the undergraduate level and in Molecular Biology and Microbiology at the Masters level. Her interest in protecting municipal drinking water stems from the belief that water is one of our most precious assets and she would like to be part of establishing a plan to ensure clean drinking water for many generations to come.

Richard Bois retired from the City of Greater Sudbury in 2001 with over 28 years of service as the Town of Walden Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk and Director of Community Services. With a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, Richard has extensive experience in planning and community and organizational development, along with experience developing effective working relationships with senior levels of government. Currently, he is President of the Walden Seniors Non-Profit Housing Corporation and Past Chairman of the Walden Community Action Network, an initiative of the City of Greater Sudbury Healthy Communities Panel.

Member of the Wahnapitae First Nation
Cheryl Recollet is the Environmental Technician with the Wahnapitae First Nation. Cheryl Recollet was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario and is a member of Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve. Cheryl has completed studies at in Geography at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario and Native Lands Management at Cambrian College. Currently, Cheryl is pursuing her Master of Science degree in Environmental Assessment at McGill University. Recently, Cheryl had the opportunity to work for the Union of Ontario Indians, a political organization representing 42 First Nation communities in Ontario, as the Geospatial Project Manager.
